One thing that has prevented me from posting regularly is that I customized BlogCFC to manage my Choice Links and Relief entries. By doing so I made choice links a requirement for every post. And coming up with a special link for every post which didn't necessarily have anything to do with the main topic was a lot of extra work. After about an hour of clearing that up and making a few other tweaks to the administrator console I am good to go.
Additionally, I had to pull down a local copy of the site, setup the dev DB, update CF8 to 8.0.1, add my code to SVN, and create a process for pushing code to production. Ironically by decoupling the Choice Link feature I came across a link worth included which you'll see below.
Also, over a month ago I went through the process of setting up an SVN repository which is a huge relief to have. It was pretty involved and I will definitely make a post here for reference this weekend. Two things left with that is scheduling a backup of the repo, look into a quicker implementation I found after the fact, and become a more familiar with command line methods.
NetDrive
At work I use ViceVersa Pro to compare and move files between dev, staging, and production all via network paths. Since this site is hosted by a third-party and files are transferred over FTP I needed a way to map an FTP location as a drive letter to run the comparison and ulimately copy files up. NetDrive is the free solution for that and it works on Vista!
